Initiatives to ensure sustainability (legality) of biomass fuel produced from harvested agricultural products
The following information concerns palm kernel shells (PKS), which is biomass fuel produced from harvested agricultural products that we are currently planning to use.
(1) Voluntary efforts to ensure sustainability (legality)
We procure only third-party certified biomass fuel※ whose sustainability (legality) is ensured through fuel import trading companies and use it for power generation purposes.
※Third-party certified biomass fuel refers to fuel that has been comprehensively tracked and recorded from manufacturing, processing, transportation, to final use by a third-party certification body. Biomass fuel whose sustainability (legality) is internationally guaranteed.
(2) Information disclosure
We will disclose information based on the Business Plan Formulation Guidelines (revised in October 2023) issued by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy.
