Operation and Maintenance

Old pipe re-lining refurbishment

Extending Pipeline Lifespan with Advanced Re-Lining Technology

Overview

The Shuttle Lining Method applies an epoxy resin lining inside gas pipes to prevent leaks caused by joint or corrosion issues. It is compliant with the "Guidelines for Countermeasures Against Corrosion of Internal Pipes" and offers a proven durability of over 40 years. Recent technological advancements have expanded its applicability to a broader range of pipe diameters.

Why DGPS?

DGPS combines cutting-edge expertise with proven lining techniques to provide durable and efficient solutions. Our adherence to industry guidelines and innovative methods ensures enhanced reliability and cost savings for clients.

What DGPS can do

We offer highly efficient and cost-effective piping maintenance technology to customers suffering from deteriorating gas pipes.

How it works & benefits

Principle

Lining resin is injected into a gas pipe to produce a uniformly distributed film on the inner surface. Air pressure is then used to push a spherical lining pig through the resin.

Features

  • Improves airtightness of existing gas pipes, reducing construction costs.
  • The method can also be used simultaneously with main branch pipe replacement, improving construction efficiency.
  • Lining work can be done by a single individual, with approximately 60-75 minutes required per pipe.
  • The compact size of the tools allows for co-loading with other tools on the same vehicle.
  • Can be used on vertical pipes within a distance of 8 m.
  • Can be used with buried piping of varying diameters (25x32 A, 32x40 A). (Requires diameter-specific pigs)

Scope of application

Pipe type Threaded-joint steel pipes
Size 25-50 A (Also support reduced diameter piping)

Schematic Diagram

This diagram illustrates the old pipe re-lining refurbishment process, a repair method designed to extend the life of existing pipelines without requiring full replacement. The key components of the process include the Resin Can, Mechanical Joint (Water Supply Type), Lining Hose, Transparent Hose, Special Plug, Operation Unit, Stirring Unit, and Meter Union. The process typically involves inserting the lining hose into the old pipe, applying resin, and allowing it to cure, creating a new, seamless inner pipe. This method is cost-effective, minimally invasive, and significantly extends the lifespan of pipeline infrastructure.
