First hydrogen generator (HYSERVE) for overseas use operating smoothly

Global Projects

The hydrogen generator we delivered for Singapore (HYSERVE-100) has been operating smoothly since it was delivered in July of last year.

First Unit for Overseas Use

First Unit for Overseas Use

This equipment has an extensive record domestically, but this was our first time delivering to an overseas customer. In our first overseas delivery, we increased the size of the unit slightly compared to those for domestic use, and modified the design of the layout with on-site workability and maintainability in mind. Additionally, the HYSERVE for the domestic market is not explosion proof, as it is not subject to such regulations, so we recreated the first explosion proof version of the HYSERVE for overseas markets. Regarding performance, one requirement was that a fixed level of purity (99.999 vol% minimum) be maintained for the municipal gas input, which has an unprecedented nitrogen content on the order of several percent, but we made adjustments during trial operations in Japan with high nitrogen concentration in mind before delivery to the site, and we confirmed that it would be compatible.

Smooth delivery

Smooth delivery

Singapore’s regulations differ from Japan, so legal compliance required time, but adjustments proceeded more or less smoothly thereafter, and the delivery was completed without incident. As our first overseas delivery, there were various challenging aspects, but with the customer’s helpful cooperation, we were able to overcome them, and the customer was extremely satisfied with the ease of use afforded by full automation, etc.

Our Supervisor’s Comments

We will leverage our experience from delivering the first unit for overseas use, our technical and engineering skills, and our exceptional ability to provide plans and documentation in English to expand our sales further, with Southeast Asia as our primary target.

Key Points

Compact Package Design

• The reforming and refining components are packaged in the same unit, greatly reducing the required space for installation
• The skid mount design facilitates equipment transportation and installation

Low Cost

• It is capable of using intermediate pressure municipal gas as raw input, greatly reducing compression power requirements
• The skid mount design greatly reduces on-site construction time and costs

Simple Operation

• Single-button start and stop
• It is capable of automated load following operation in a range of 40-100%, with standby operation as standard equipment
• Remote monitoring and reporting system enables rapid response when trouble occurs

Applications

• Industrial applications (bright annealing of steel wire, bright annealing of steel plate, glass manufacturing, etc.)
• Hydrogen stations (fuel cell vehicles)
